Pittsboro, IN July 28 – Team Moore Racing’s driver
Andrew Prendeville took part in the Edmonton Grand Prix
on July 25th. With new sponsors onboard for the race, a
new venue for the series, and an extremely competitive field,
the stage was set for an exciting race weekend. As the team
arrived to very hot weather and an equally warm reception
from Canadian open-wheel race fans, they prepared to do
battle on the track. Andrew qualified 8th on the challenging
circuit. After an excellent start by Andrew and an intense
three-way battle with Romancini and Cunningham that
lasted most of the race, Andrew finished 7th, dueling
heavily with Wade Cunningham for 6th position all the
way to the checkers.
“TMR had a solid race. The temporary courses always
create a challenge but Andrew and the TMR crew did a
good job improving the car and putting in a 7th place
finish. We lost a position or so due to traffic at the end
but that’s not unusual with this type of track” commented
co-owner and Calgary native, Tom Wood.
“I thought the weekend went fairly well. It was our best
finish of the year so far. I had a good time with all the
folks from Xtreme Coil, Sabre, Bonnybrook, BlackSun,
WMCZ, and Peters & Co Limited” said Andrew
Prendeville. Adding “I am looking forward to Kentucky
as we have had very good oval cars this year. We just
need some better luck and we should be right there. We
have five races left so we are looking to move up in the
points as far as we can before the season ends.”
Prendeville currently stands at 11th in points, moving up
two positions in the championship.
“The last two races have produced two hard fought top-tens. This last weekend everyone worked very hard and was rewarded by a strong drive from
Andrew. Edmonton was like a home race for our team with Xtreme Coil being based in Calgary. Edmonton also provided our team with some new
sponsors and exposed them to the whole IRL experience. The event was wonderful and helped make new fans and friends” said co-owner Mark Moore.
“We are now preparing for the Indy Lights 100th race this weekend at Kentucky. I really feel that we have gained some momentum heading into the
last third of the season. Andrew has experience on all the remaining tracks and we intend to work our way up in the over all points
championship. There is every reason to believe that we will be very competitive on the high banked 1 ½ mile Kentucky Speedway this Saturday”
concluded Moore.
TMR would like to extend a special thank you to Michelle Bennett from Xtreme Coil for all of her hard work in organizing all the associate
sponsors for the Edmonton event, including coordinating the weekend’s activities for all of our guests. The team appreciates your dedication and
hard work.
